3.4 on moto edge 30 or similar

I am running 3.2 on my moto edge 30.

A couple of months ago I updated to 3.3 and the system stopped working ( Feedback for v3.3 - #71 by LeonardoBarichello ) so I had to downgrade back to 3.2. Since this was really troublesome for me (changing to a different slot did not solve the issue), I am wondering if 3.4 is working on similar devices before updating the system.

Hello everyone, Yesterday, a system update was offered and performed at the Edge 30. After that, the device booted (after entering the SIM PIN) to the lock screen. Problem: Lock screen cannot be unlocked (by swiping up + PIN)! The lock screen does not respond to anything! What can I do? Do you have an idea?

Feedback for v3.4

Dear @Manoj , i have 2 devices dubai (Edge 30). One stoped working after update 3.2 to 3.3 and needed a new install. Then update from 3.3 to 3.4 was fine. The other i tried to update directly from 3.2 to 3.4, but hanged during log in as the other previously. Again a new install and now both are on 3.4. Thanks

So, a fresh 3.4 install seems to work and an update from 3.2 or 3.3 doesnt?

I accidentally updated to 3.4 (I thought i was just authorizing the download of the update, but it installed…) and the system stopped working.

Change the slot (the other one was running 3.2) but it also did not work. So, I did a factory reset on the 3.2 slot and the system is back on.

I hope this update issue is solved for 3.5

That is now also my question. Have someone tested that with Edge 30?

And if so, what does “fresh install” mean?
Installing recovery 3.4 and then, factory reset/format data, then sideload the new 3.4? (according to /e/OS install document for edge30)
→ I have tested that, but after reboot I get the same failure - frozen lock screen.

So it’s better to stay at 3.2 and waiting for a good working new /e/OS update?

I had the same error as described above after a system update from 3.2 A14 to 3.4. Apparently, the update to A15 was performed. However, I can no longer prove this. Only a factory reset and a complete reinstallation helped. Of course, I didn’t make a backup beforehand.

By the way: With my Edge 30 (3.2 - A14) I have after failed OTA update (3.4 - A14) also tried an update to 3.3 - A15 manually, but then data were corrupt:

So current status is slot A: flashed with version e-3.3 (A15) slot B: not reflashed But at both slots booting ends in recovery mode, where I get the message: “Can’t load Android System. Your data may be corrupt…”init_user0_failed” (I don’t know what this mean)
