ABN AMRO app crashes immediately after splash screen since latest e/OS update

Hello,

Since updating to the latest version of e/OS, the ABN AMRO banking app no longer works on my phone.

Symptoms:

  • The app starts and shows the splash screen.

  • Immediately afterwards it closes/crashes without any error message.

  • Reinstalling the app does not help.

  • Clearing cache and app data does not help.

  • microG Self-Check shows all items as passed/checked.

  • Other security-sensitive apps (for example Credit Card app) still work normally.

The ABN AMRO app worked without any issues before the e/OS update.

Has anyone else experienced this problem after updating e/OS? If so, is there a workaround or fix?

Device: Galaxy A52
e/OS version: 3.7.3 (7 may 2026)
Android version: Android 15

Thank you.

ABN-AMRO is also my main bank. I will wait to update my FP3 3.7.2 official to 4.0.

At the moment ABN-AMRO is working fine with FP3 3.7.2-t.

Same issue here with a pixel 7 running e/os official, but not bootlocked.

Haven’t got round yet to bootlocking (backups etc) to see if this would help.

Used to work ok

I just updated to 3.7.3, and have the same problem where it hangs.

Logcat shows debug messages regarding split_config.arm64_v8a.apk!libidp-shared.so and the app segfaulting (sig 11) from a null pointer dereference.

I don’t know what that means, but am I understanding correctly that there’s nothing that can be done about it at the moment?

I have the ABN AMRO app working on the latest (3.7.3-a15-20260506618655-official-FP6) version, but a different phone. I have relocked the bootloader. Haven’t done anything special.

Thuis information is nog really useful since it doesn’t give you any solutions, but maybe it gives you some hope to make it work again.

I suspect it’s a library packaging error with e/OS for FP3. We’ll have to see what the maintainers say.

Thnx for your answers. Does anybody know if it’s possible that the issue will be fixed automatically in a future app update or an e/OS update?

I just upgraded to 4.0, and the app still hangs/crashes. Lovely.

You can raise an issue in Gitlab with these details. That would help the developers to debug this. They may also want you to generate logs in required.

If I understand correct, the problem with ABN AMRO already existed for some of you with eos v3.7.

In my case ABN AMRO is working with eos v3.7 (FP3 official-t). In my case it could be possible to update to eos v4.0 with a working ABN AMRO.

I will consider the update, I already changed 2 times from bank, I prefer not to do it again.

Update 19JUN26 12:30

I did the upgrade (A13→A15) to eos 4.0 and ABN AMRO is still working for me.

It worked before 3.7. I recently upgraded to 3.7.3 and the crashing started. I upgraded again to 4.0 and it continues.

Ok, it has been resolved. When I upgraded to 3.7.3 I upgraded ABNAMRO as well, and it failed. After upgrading to 4.0, I just used the same app which kept failing.

This morning I deleted the ABNAMRO app, and reinstalled from scratch. Now it appears to be working. So I think the bug was in 3.7.3, and resolved in 4.0.
