Account sync calendar not automatic, must initiate sync every time

Hi,

I’m using 3.0.4-a15-20250711508346-community-sunfish and I cannot get my calendar account to sync automatically.

I can sync manually using: settings → accounts → (account) → acount sync → sync now

however it never updates automatically. I need to sync it ever time I want to see calendar updates.

is this a known issue?

the first thing I’d try is removing and re-adding that Google account and observe if the behaviour continues.

in davx5 / accountmanager the latest Google Calendar fix was

upstream there is:

• 4.4.x-OSE fails to connect to Google calendar (contacts is OK) · Issue #842 · bitfireAT/davx5-ose · GitHub (accountmanager fork is 4.3.10 derived, so could apply)

So maybe the sync framework/job scheduler in Android 14+ falsely believes a sync is still active.

I’d say those upstream issues matter most for your issue
