I seriously don’t get what is happening with accounts management.
I’ve had a FP5 on /e/ since launch - that’s 2 years ago - and with TOTP 2FA ever since.
As far as I remember, I created an “application password” at the time, which is a pretty common way to auth a device when 2FA is in place for regular login.
Now, /e/ 3.3 arrived with a nifty new “murena workspace app”, that requires login, refuses app password, seems to work with regular password and “remember me” … but I’m not even sure it works. (by the way, the so called app look s like a PWA, and opening in default browser makes it barely usable (duckduckgo browser in my case) due to UI size, far too small)
In the end :
- Notes do not sync anymore (see other topic)
- Other things … sync’d at least once, or at least I had no error
- Now : I have regular messages in notifications area telling be “non blocking sync issue blah …” happened
Going in account management, unticking / re-ticking elements synced to “force” a sync seems to work but I can’t even be sure : the only thing I see is … there is no error message. Last sync date is updated, that’s all.
I tried to remove the account entirely, add it back : The process pops up murena workspace “app” for …reasons ? … and my Application password was refused.
So, used regular login password + OTP, was accepted, sync configured. I added a contact for a test and it was replicated : I can see it on a laptop connected to murena worskpace for instance. That’s great but .. will it work next week ? Not sure.
Honestly, I’m totally lost, no idea what works or not, nor what I should do.
I’ll test to add a new contact next time I see the error message … in the meantime I’d appreciate info as to what I should expect / how I should set up an account that has 2FA / why app password fail etc.
Any advice appreciated !
