Any feedback on Murena Gigaset GS6 Pro yet?

Can someone at Murena tell us if and when the GS6 will be in stock?

The message on your website says ‘4 weeks’ and ‘in August’ for the GS6 and GS6 Pro respectively. This is what it said at least a month ago. It is both past 4 weeks and in August.

I commented above about Volla calling it a ‘rugged phone that doesn’t look like one’ while neither Murena or Gigaset focused on its durability. Gigaset has new rugged phones out now, namely the GX30 and GX50. I wonder how Volla will market those if they adopt them, maybe a ‘rugged phone that does look like one’. Also wondering if (and hoping that) Murena will use them.

It was the same message when I ordered GS6 Pro in June, but I had mine delivered I think 10 July… maybe message not updated?

Try a ticket to Support, they are really good with responding. Haven’t let me down ever.

For those with the GS6/Pro, did you try the macro camera?
I know it is a very specific question to ask, but it’s the one feature I miss the most on a phone (aside from a locked bootloader :,D ), and just noticed that the feature page says “2 MP macro camera for close-up details”. Zooming in and manual focus never did the same job on my pixel 6 and getting a macro camera is a eh option.

I was eyeing the fairphones for a while for their reparability and ethics, but…macro camera!

Hi @griffinbandida I reckon lens 3 on my GS6 looks like using the macro camera:

When you select it, normal view is out of focus:

But when you direct lens at something closer it is showing in focus:

However in description it just says ultra-wide lens camera and not macro…

I normally do not use it.

I don’t know if it may help you at all to make your mind up :slightly_smiling_face:

This is an issue with all lineage os builds, you are limited un resolution output, it will never be the resolution advertized by the manufacturer or may be with some magisk modules.

For the gs6 pro, this is totally outdated camera modules … macro lens de don’t care, now propre phones have periscope telephoto. And if you consider the poor performance CPU + closed arm architecture, It doesn’t worth the price

Thank you so much! It did answer, but in making my mind kinda no, because it doesn’t seem to be the macro quality I got on phones before : (
Unfortunately I also do have to accept this is no longer a priority in phone cameras, and bug nerds like me might have to look for alternatives. :smiling_face_with_tear:

I do hope you are enjoying the phone by the way! It does look nice for the price to be honest.

I preferred cameras in my Razr 2022 I had before, there was proper macro and the camera seemed to have done better IMO.

I bought GS6 pro as alternative to FP6 which I had originally paid for directly to fairphone and it all went tits up…

Gigaset is made in Germany and I hope for decent quality overall. Maybe cameras are not top notch but personally to get good photos I use an old style film camera Nikon FM2 with Carl Zeiss Distagon ZF2 T* 28mm lens and also got some 135mm Nikkor lens for portraits etc. Those are my preferred photo tools and not the mobile handset really..
