Any good 3rd party apps to customize the home screen?

I’m setting up my new fairphone 6 with the murena e/os/ and having trouble with customizing the home screen. Is there really no way to place the apps wherever i want? Do they really have to go in a row with no spaces in between? ( For example, I always have my calendar app on the right bottom corner while the rest of the apps are along the left edge) This is my first new phone in over 6 years, so I’ve gotten very particular about the layout. Are there any good 3rd party apps that help make up for the lack of customization options? Maybe I just don’t know where to look for the option to toggle this off? I’d appreciate any help:)

Edit: Thank You to everyone for all the suggestions! I’m excited to try all of them out:)

Lawnchair I like really much. You can do almost anything and setting it up is simple.

You don’t need an app to adjust the launcher (the /e/OS default is called Bliss). You can just use some alternative as above. [HOWTO] Start to customise /e/.

I used OpenLauncher for a long time but it is not available any more on F-Droid.

Instead I use Lawnchair. I found nearly the same features.

Indeed… I hadn’t noticed that because I had installed it a long time ago. Still working great, though.

When I installed /e/ last week I took the chance to get Olauncher. If you’re on the minimalist side of users you should love it.

  1. No icons, just text (you can change app names though)
  2. A maximum of 8 or 9 apps on the home screen - and no second or even third home screen
  3. App drawer is a written list too
  4. No widgets allowed

Yes, it is VERY reduced but as I wrote, if you’re into that look you should try it out.
