App Lounge Safety

Just installed e/OS 2.7 on a One Plus 6T. I installed several apps from App Lounge with no problems. However, installing the GrubHub app led to a few suspicious behaviors.

The app installed unusually fast, within a few seconds. The app icon had a smaller icon superimposed over it (I don’t remember what it looked like). Tapping the app did not open the app. Instead the default browser opened to a blank web page with a very long URL. I immediately closed the page and uninstalled the app.

Today, I tried to duplicate this behavior so I could report it more accurately, but the GrubHub app installed normally; taking a very long time per usual, and no icon superimposed over the app icon.

This is worrisome. I’m hoping the first install was just a web app, but I can’t be sure. Is it normal for App Lounge to sometimes install web apps?

There are malicious apps at Playstore, so they appear in Applounge consequently. I wonder how that problem of yours would be caused by Applounge?
By the way, there was a data breach at Grubhub, you might want to change your credentials.

You can install PWAs in App Lounge but you can hide them in the settings, scroll down to the Show Applications list and uncheck Show PWAs
