App Photo crash and reboot phone

**Hello,

since few mouth, defaullt photo app crash always a lot of time when I want to take a picture, and my photo reboot** :face_with_crossed_out_eyes: .

My phone is a Fairphone 5, version /e/os : 3.2a15-20251022 (but before this update, it was the same thing), app is foundation.e.camero v 1.53.1

is it possible to enable debug to see what’s happened?

Thank.

do you have a reliable reproduction to cause the crash + reboot?

getting debug

the immediate(?) reboot will make it harder to get the debug log. You can try adb logcat or logfox and hope that the error is logged before reset.

community/dev builds enable fetching the pstore logs that can have the prior reboot reasons logged after reboot - but I think you run official / stable.

as to find others with the same issue, the recent build-feedback threads can have reports, then there’s the camera-app tag in gitlab and there’s this recent camera-crash + reboot, but with an FP4.

I’ve got the same problem on a FP5.

It is a random problem in my case.

Mostly works fine.

I put my pictures on the SD card and in raw+JPEG

Hy, it’s the same as @Bzhgirl , same parameters (FP5, SD card and raw + JPEG) and it’s a random problem :’(

if any one of you is able to reliable reproduce it (taking photos in quick succession?) and capture a logcat or pstore (I know, kind of advanced), that would clear things up.

If you move the destination directory to internal memory you’ll probably avoid it.
