Authenticator push notifications

I am hoping to use Lastpass Authenticator. It installs OK, but when I try to pair the device, it fails with the error “Failed to register for notifications”.

It seems the app is not able to receive push notifications. Has anyone else tried this? Is there possibly a permission or setting that would help?

Or maybe -ugh - it just requires full Google Play Services.

If no one knows, I may fire up a LineageOS with MicroG to see if that works.

@Brado you may want to check if it works on LineageOS4Microg. Some apps do require GooglePlay services to work correctly. One of the objectives for /e/ is to ensure all apps work smoothly on the ROM. Post checking on LineageOs4Microg you can create a issue on Gitlab with logcat to help debug the issue.
