Hello forum,
Is there a way to automatically turn off my Wi-Fi when I am outside the range of my three connected Wi-Fi networks and automatically turn it back on when I am back within range of one of my connected Wi-Fi networks?
I can turn off the Wi-Fi via the system profiles, but I cannot turn it back on automatically.
Thank you very much.
One option would be to use MacroDroid to automate turning Wi-Fi on and off based on the phone’s location. You could define geofences for areas where Wi-Fi should be used, such as at home or at work. Trigger events when entering and leaving these areas could be used to turn Wi-Fi on and off.
To activate WiFi automatically there is a setting available in the network settings:
Settings → Network & Internet → Internet → Network settings → Activate WiFi automatically
(In German: Einstellungen → Netzwerk & Internet → Internet → Netzwerkeinstellungen → WLAN automatisch aktivieren)
It requires to have Location service (Standort) switched on!
I don’t know if this is what you are looking for and also can’t say, how reliable it is. I don’t use it.
I’m on /e/OS 3.2-s-official (A12)
