Battery drain ntfy and account manager

Hi,

I’m using 3.1.4 official on Pixel 5 redfin.

Since version 3.1.3, Ntfy and the Account Manager have been using the highest proportion of battery power day in, day out, reducing the battery life by almost half compared to version 3.1.2 and earlier.

Any idea why this is and how to resolve the issue would be appreciated, Thanks!

Work has been done on this since e-3.1.x

I suggest to update.

Any time high battery drain shows on a system app the first step should be to Clear cache of that System app.

Found from Settings > Apps > All apps > top right 3 dot menu > Show system > Problem_app > Storage and cache > Clear cache.

Thanks, I did all this before posting. The problem started with 3.3-t and now persists with 3.4-t. Maybe I should mention that I’m not using my phone much. It lasted for almost 4 days with 3.2-t and before, which was what I expected. Now it lasts for only 2 days or less. That is quite a difference, and I’m not sure it is really necessary that an account manager and a notifier take 50% of the total battery while running in the background. Can I do something about it, e.g., deinstalling ntfy? Thanks!

Good.

Hmmm…

While nfty seems a little unpredictable currenty … in what way are you using nfty?

I had the same problem after updating to version 3.4. I am writing from Germany and using a Murena Two with a German user interface. The terms mentioned below may not have been translated correctly.

Under “Settings,” “Notification,” the first entry is “Murena Notification.” If you select this once, Ntfy is activated and drains the battery. Solution: Under Apps, select Show system apps via the three-dot menu. After clicking on Ntfy, select “Force stop” on the right. Then Ntfy will no longer run and will no longer drain the battery. Clicking on Murena Notification activates Ntfy again!

Danke, Dreikomma14, that solved the problem for ntfy. The problem that remains is that the account manager is using much more battery than before version 3.3 (or before the new method of connecting with Murena Workspace was activated?). The account manager is using the highest percentage of the battery now, and I do not know what it is doing all the time. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix the problem? Thanks!

Ntfy reactivated itself after about a week without me doing anything :frowning: Now I have realised that the procedure mentioned in my first post is cumbersome. You can also select the Ntfy entry directly from the battery usage and deactivate it there. I noticed that battery usage can also be set there. You can choose between unrestricted, optimised and restricted. This is possible for all apps. Try changing the settings for the account manager there.

Danke, Dreikomma14, I stop the Ntfy process whenever it comes up again.

The account manager is still at the top of the list and cannot have its battery use restricted; all the other options are greyed out.
