Better to transfer data from old to new phone

Continuing the discussion from FP6 for newbies:slight_smile:

When the new phone arrives the “get started” leaflet suggests transferring data from old to new by phone to phone cable. The email from Murena says all data will appear ( over time) and it does…some of it. I have searched everywhere my lists of contacts seem to be leaving bit by bit. My email was working nicely to begin with and sometimes I can get my emails logging in to the laptop. Would it help my various little glitches if I now try to transfer by cable from the old phone.

It has been reported before that a new /e/OS FP6 phone arrived with a Fairphone product leaflet. This leaflet apparently includes the idea of restore the phone by Android Switch. This can be done with Fairphone’s own version of Android.

Android Switch is not compatible with /e/OS so the leaflet is really very misleading if included in the box.

My contacts have returned and my email has been fixed, so I may have jumped the gun. I have had the phone only 5 days.

Well email would not send tonite so…

This appears to be not just my phone?
