First time user here. Just wanted to thank everybody who works on /e/!
I’m a long time Android user, back in the days I also had my share of experience with Cyanogenmod on a Galaxy S2 but I’m far from being a modder or tweaker.
Now, after about 5 years with an Android Fairphone 3 my FP6 arrived last friday. At first I wanted to order the /e/ version but thanks to Black Week I found the regular one for only 519 Euros - which was waaayyy too good to refuse.
To be kinda honest, at first I was a little “scared” because I really didn’t wanna brick my new toy. But what should I say, the installer grabbed me like momma, tucked me into a digital woobie blanket and even shoved a pacifier into my mouth. An hour later my dog woke up thanks to me doing a happy rebel yell when the /e/ logo showed up on the phone’s screen for the first time.
It’s just… I guess “flawless” is the right word. I did use many FOSS apps off of F-Droid on my old FP3 but thanks to /e/’s onboard apps my download list was rather short. I’m really amazed how well everything works, and BOY, how huge is the app selection of App Lounge? After I had installed everything I needed I really had to ask GPT if there’s anything else a guy like me should instal.
The only thing I had to change (sorry guys who work on it, no offense) was Bliss. I’m absolutely used to having a minimalist, clean setup and Bliss doesn’t have the look & feel I need. So after many years with Nova I took the chance and installed the Olauncher, even built a nice map elevation lines wallpaper of my home area.
Now this is the sexiest phone I’ve ever had and I enjoy the feeling that “Big G” doesn’t get a chance to make more money with my information while I don’t have to change my ways to use the phone the slightest.
Definetly not going back to Google Android ever if this stays the way it is.
