Setting up my Fairphone 6 and when I go to turn on notifications for BlissWeather, it says “This app does not send notifications”, however I want notifications on for things like upcoming precipitation/storms since I work outside and need to know these things. I’ve double checked that the Advanced Privacy settings don’t have any trackers toggled off (there are no trackers apparently).
I did also try downloading CARROT Weather which was my go-to on my iPhone but it’s the same thing (and probably not worth keeping on my Fairphone 6, thus worthwhile to look for an alternative). So I’m not sure if this is just for weather apps in general or what.
Thanks.
Edit for future readers: both replies from user aibd were helpful together for me, but the first reply was best for selecting the solution.
Thank you! I did try searching throughout the forum before posting, but I didn’t find the previous posts that touched upon this. I do actually appreciate the forecasts too (edit - I see now those recommendations). And thank you again! (Also ew how did I miss that “CARROT declares itself Google dependent” - thank you so much!)
Editing again: Not sure I’m quite ready yet for F-Droid since I can’t even comprehend the simple installation instructions. So I’m open to options through App Lounge at the moment (I’m looking at Hello Weather and QuickWeather currently).
Definitely a major learning curve switching to Android, and I hope to learn more as I go, though it’s gonna take lots of time for me. Appreciate the feedback!
