Bluetooth conversations have an echo of my own voice

When talking using Bluetooth headphones or in the car, there is a slightly delayed echo of my voice.

This makes it impossible to have a conversation as the volume of my voice is loud and the echo is also heard by the recipient.

Both headphones and cars sound system worked fine with my previous (Android) phone.

Is there a setting somewhere ?

What phone and OS in the past, what now?

Previous phone was Huawei P10 using Android.
New phone is GS290 with stock /e preloaded.

Phone and OS both changed.

Definitely an issue with the phone. Even before the conversation starts, when the phone is still ringing trying to reach the correspondent, i can hear my voice as a feedback echo.

Is there a setting to solve this issue ?

I since heard this is called the “sidetone” function.
I would need to disable this feature.

Any idea ?
