Bought an /e/ phone, most important app wont work?

Hey dear forum!

I just bought an /e/ phone and it’s awesome! There is an app i HAVE to use, for work, which is called Time Tree. Before /e/ i used LineageOS. It worked perfectly fine. I just installed it on /e/ tho and when i open the app, it shows me the intro and then as usual the Logo but no Login buttons, as it should be shown when starting the app.

I have, due to the missing Buttons, no possibility to log into it, so it’s useless. Is there any workaround or any reason it’s not showing the buttons on my phone?

Thank you and regards.

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/ the unGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

It seems that the app needs for login origunak g-services, which are not available in eOS.
And this app will infected your eOS. It has 13 trackers. If you have installed a TrackerBlocker it could be, that the LogIn button is blocked by your tracker blocker.
But anyway, I never would use such spying app on eOS.

Is it something that you can run on a normal web page (if, for example, you were using a laptop or desktop)? If so, you can make a web app using the WebApp app from F-Droid. This will sandbox TimeTree so that you only share with them what you explicitly do in your Time Tree web app. If this makes sense to you, try it out, if not, I’ll try to explain in more detail.

Aurora Store (alternative access to free-of-charge Google Play Store Apps) lists TimeTree as GSF-dependent, which means this App needs Google services.

Did you install some GApps package onto your LineageOS, which would have added the genuine Google services to let the App run?

/e/ includes microG as an Open Source replacement for Google services. microG tries to mimic Google services as good as it can, but there are Apps which simply will not work with it.
And the genuine Google services can not be installed additionally to microG.

For information,
Just installed the app (works.jubilee.timetree, right ?) on my 0.13 Pie testing phone (no Shelter, Magisk, TrackerControl, or such).
After the animated logo, I got offered the login button :

Hey harvey! Thanks for your reply! I’m thinking about switching to another app with the same collabo-features. Do you know a “spy free” alternative? Thank you!

Hey ecs! Awesome idea. I tried it tho and time tree in a browser is not that usable on a phone. Still, great idea and thanks a lot!
