Bug Report: Black screen after clean install on Galaxy Tab S2 (New Build)

Hi @ronnz98

Thank you for your continuous work on providing new /e/OS builds for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2!

I am reporting a major issue I encountered with the latest build on my device. Here are my device and installation details:

  • Device Model: SM-T815Y/gts210ltexx

  • Exact ROM File Name Flashed: e-3.7.3-a14-20260509-UNOFFICIAL-gts210ltexx

  • Recovery Version: EOS Recovery

The Problem:

  1. I performed a completely clean install (wiping/formatting data) and successfully flashed the ROM zip file via EOS Recovery.

  2. Upon rebooting the system, the device immediately goes to a completely black screen and becomes entirely unresponsive.

  3. The only way to get the device out of this state is to physically unplug the battery (or force a hard hardware restart).

  4. Once restarted, the device boots back up but immediately runs into the exact same black screen problem.

Current Status:

Fortunately, the device is not hard-bricked. I am still able to successfully boot into Recovery Mode using the Power + Volume Up + Home button combination. However, the OS itself will not boot past the black screen.

Has anyone else reported this kernel panic or boot freeze on this specific build? Please let me know if there are any specific logs you need me to pull from EOS Recovery or if there is a workaround/updated build to resolve this issue.

Thanks again for your help!

Try recovery I provided in link for sources and install instructions and not e-recovery

After many attempts, I came back again. I used TWRP on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. First, I tried to install from TWRP recovery, then I tried sideloading. Sometimes it looked like the installation worked, but after rebooting the system, it went into a boot loop. Even after trying multiple times with different methods—such as a clean install and wiping all the data—the issue still continued.

Do you see the bouncing e logo or its stuck at Samsung logo?

I don’t see the bouncing ‘E’ logo or any other logo. It just shows a continuous loop, turning on and off. I’ve been using your builds on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 for the last few years without any problems, but this time the issue appeared.

Then it might not work - I checked and all patches were applied. Last working version is Android 13 based. You can find it also here in the forum

The previous version worked flawlessly, aside from the camera issue. I make it a point to test every ROM you release, but this is the first time I’ve encountered this particular problem.
