Calls and SMS not working after startup (Samsung Galaxy S7, /e/OS v3.6)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a recurring issue with my Samsung Galaxy S7 running /e/OS (version v3.6s-s20260312593429). Every night, I shut down my phone completely. On startup, everything appears normal—signal bars are present—but I cannot make or receive calls or SMS. The only workaround I’ve found is to toggle Airplane mode on and off, after which any pending messages are delivered immediately.

This issue started a few weeks ago; before that, everything worked fine. Has anyone else encountered this, or does anyone have suggestions for a more permanent fix?

Thanks in advance for any help!

An update could reset your Access Point Names. Other threads on the subject have hashtag apn. The system changed for 2026 so detail itself from earlier posts cannot be relied on. If you share the name of your carrier others may notice if this is a known carrier difficulty.

You could try Settings > :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Search “Access Point Names” > Top right 3 dot menu > Reset default.

Finally there was a fresh update few days after my message. I still reset access point names. Now everything is fine, thanks
