Can I restore pictures, thathave disappeared ftom gallery?

I have a fairphone 5 murena and use the standard gallery app. Today my daughter wanted to show her friend some holiday pics on my phone and swiped wildly over the display, when it didnt react as she wanted. When I got the phone back in my hands few minutes later several pictures have disappeared.

My daughter has not deleted any of them voluntarily or consciously, yet they have simply disappeared. Is there any way I could restore or place I could find them?

I can’t find any bin in the gallery app.

I don’t use cloud synchronization.

Using the FILES app, you should find all photos in the DCIM folder (not in the Pictures folder).

And on my /e/OS (version 3.1.1) the Gallery app has a :wastebasket: Bin in in the “LIbrary” section.
