Cannot install app because of location and age

Hi community,

I’m using eOS and the App Lounge with a FP6. I want to install the App “Abfall App Stadt Bayreuth” but I get a error message, that its not possible because of “This app cannot be installed. This is usually due to content restrictions based on your location (region) or your account’s age settings (including age verification and age/content restrictions).” The app worked with my old FP5 (also eOS). Iam glad for a solution.

Best regards

Kryz

Maybe changing your ip address and location via the advanced privacy app would help.

Thanks for your message, but unfortunately it doesn’t help.

I’ve had the same issue on my FP6 running /e/os v3.7.3, both with App Lounge and Aurora Store.

Three apps in my case, all identification guides for insects, all with a PEGI 3 rating, and all UK apps failing to install with a UK IP address (no VPN).

iRecord Grasshoppers, European Ladybirds, What’s that Bumblebee.

Similar apps by the same developers as the first two installed with no issue.

I had these installed on my FP3+ so was able to extract the apk files and use those to install on my FP6.

(I’d probably follow Gionis advice)

if you’re using the pool of accounts labeled “anonymous” they can come from any country. If you need a specific country I dont think there’s away around using a dedicated G account of your own.

In app compatibility menu → device registration, you can modify the device type that is published as yours while using Applounge, that is actually presenting your device profile to Google play so that it can offer you apps that will work on your phone.

I also tried that (using an account set up solely for installing a few paid apps) and that didn’t work either, exactly the same response.

Thanks a lot, that helped.
