Everything seems to be working more or less as expected now, but I have one major blocker: I cannot use mobile connection… The settings and messages I write below are translated from Norwegian, so sorry if it doesn’t match up perfectly with the English version!
The button Settings → Network and Internet has the shape of a greyed-out globe with a question-mark attached to it, and it says Available Networks. Under Settings → Network and Internet → Internet I can see that my provider is listed as a connection above the Wifi toggle button, 5G, and it has a signal. But if I press it, it says Wifi does not connect automatically for now. If I check the settings for this provider-network, it says 0 bytes of data has been used.
GPS services seem to work as expected. Phone calls work as expected. Regular WiFi works as expected. What am I doing wrong here? Should I try to change my Preferred network type to something other than the current selection, which is NR/LTE/GSM/WCDMA? Is it possibly related to some of my issues in my previous post?
I can reproduce this seen as a toast bottom of screen. When Wi-Fi is off like this what shows as a connection icon in top right status bar? (This Settings location changed @Jets in a15.)
Your APN may not be exactly correct.
Settings > use Search facility > Access point names. Compare with your carrier published APN.
Preferred network type can be worth adjusting. Do you expect good 5G? If not try 4G. For 4G use something like LTE/GSM/WCDMA but not NR.
It seems Network and Internet → SIM-card → Mobile Data is turned on.
I tried changing this, Now it says 4G, but I still have the same issues unfortunately
Enabling Advanced Privacy → Hide IP-address does not work.
I did notice that if I disable Network and Internet → Internet → Ice (provider network) → 4G calling, that my Mobile Network now suddenly says No connection… This is most odd, could it be that my provider somehow is not compatible? I use Ice, in Norway.
That is why I suggested APN. Your carrier may expect some Google magic to get your APN exactly right “on the fly”; with AOSP we use “presets” built in. Conceivably your carrier changed his APN. Please check some threads with hashtag apn (<- is a link) for more insight. Or just ask your carrier for an APN reset.
Under the APN it says Settings for names of access points are not available for this user, and then there is nothing listed there. I am able to click the + to add an access-point tho.
