Can't pair my earbuds (FP6)

I just bought a Fairphone 6 with e/OS version 3.2 running on it. For now, I’m rather satisfied with all apps working really well.

I have only one problem as my earbuds won’t pair (Redmi buds 5 Pro). The bluetooth of my phone is connected with the earbuds and I hear the connection sound as I’m wearing the earbuds, but besides this, I don’t hear any sounds or music. I guess because the earbuds won’t connect in the app of Xiaomi itself.

As far as my limited technical knowledge reaches, all boxes are ticked at MicroG and I tried if installing the app by Aurora (instead of applounge) differs, but with the same (not working earbuds) result.

I can’t find any other suggestions on the Internet and I’ve tried the AI suggestions, so hopefully somebody can help me with getting the earbuds working :slight_smile:

(and in case this might not be possible, what are good working and reasonably priced alternatives?)

Just a vague guess: Perhaps your earbuds are still paired and connected with another device that has precedence (priority)?

I have unpaired them with my old phone and just double checked, they are not connected anymore.
