Charging of battery issues

Hi, When I purchased the FP3± from e foundation on its release I did not purchase a plug and USB cable as I have been using the chargers from previously owned One Plus 3T. Recently changed the original battery for new one I purchased last year I think. I usually have phone in front jean pocket which can get contaminated with pocket fluff so I know to use a sewing needle to clean out the USB C charging port. The chargers from 1+ are fast chargers. Recently when connecting USB cable to phone it states on screen, ‘slow charging’. If I reconnect or wiggle connection slightly it changes to ‘charging’. Sometimes when connected it starts to charge then when I go back to it later it has stopped charging. Is it possible that the port needs replacing if this is at all possible? I’ve had the phone since 2021. Currently on 3.0.1-t-20250606498724-official-FP3 and not rooted.

You should not put any metal object in the charging/data port you can destroy it by shorting live terminals.

The proper way to get “fluff” out is to use compressed air. Either from a can or a compressor at work or car garage. Just don’t use high pressure. Use a nozzle that allows you to restrict the air flow. Probably only 15-20 PSI is necessary (1-1.5 bar).

Well I have resolved my issue. Sad to see /e/ no longer stocks replacement modules for Fairphone 3+, got new bottom module from Fairphone directly. UPS created issue sending it back to Fairphone so what should have arrived in 2-5 days ended up being a week!
