nice to find you and post here, installed your os last week and i’m really happy that this alternative is possible!
So i wanna ask if i can directly can select which folder to sync and which not.
I found only the button with ‘pictures and videos’ that i can untoggle in the murena account settings, but this will untoggle all media folders. is it possible, or will it be possible in the future to untoggle certain folders?
I mean it would be nice to have my music just local but my pictures in the cloud for example…
At the moment it is unfortunately not possible to sync other folders than pictures and videos.
And even that implementation is very unpractical (to stay polite) because deleting a picture in the telephone will not delete it on the server if it has been sent to the server already.
Let’s hope that in the future this sync will offer more option to sync at we want, including any file type.
Those issues has been reported already but I have no idea if it is being worked on.
In the mean time, there is an unperfect workaround that is to use the nextcloud app connected to your murena.io account. There are options to sync only some folders but the menus are terrible AND it does not really sync as asked. You can try but I wasn’t able to make it work.
Nextcloud desktop client is a little better but also suffers from a lack of financing/development For example you need to manually delete AppData folder to reconfigure which folder in windows is used as the root for syncing. Unlogging from the account does not remove that configuration …
