Dasher app does not work on FP4

Hello, I am a user of e/os/ on the FP4 in the US. The “Dasher” app, an app for working as a delivery driver for DoorDash, does not seem to work.

After starting the application and moving past the opening page/screen (Screenshot 1), the app will send a code to your phone number or email for verification of your log-in (Screenshot 2). After entering the code into the app (Screenshot 3), you should be able to proceed into your account dashboard and see other options; but for me, it sends back to the page that is first shown after starting the app (Screenshot 1). If I try logging in again, the same cycle will repeat. I have tried both logging in with the SMS code and logging in with email and password but both result in this.

Is there any solution for this in order to be able to properly use the app? If not, could I request that e/os/ team eventually create a fix for this?

Thank you.

Nice idea … but the giveaway is

… you are effectively asking an intermediary to behave as a “bank”. While a physical bank might help … as a “courier” you may find that the organisation is disinterested, idk.

I don’t understand what you are trying to say.

Apps like Cashapp or Venmo work on my device, where money can be accumulated through actions within the app/organization (like receiving money from a friend after paying for dinner for example) and can later be directly deposited into your chosen banking account. Why would this case be different?

As a Dasher, you just deliver food to people that order from restaurants. After delivering, DoorDash will add money/payment to your account balance in the app and that money can later be deposited into your chosen banking account.

you’ll likely need to create debug logs (logcat, logfox) to advance understanding of that issue. There exist one entry at microg, but it’s very thin. Also check microG settings as to what is enabled.

that a SMS is sent is good. I don’t think yet it is similar as only logs can tell, but here’s another case where SMS verification fails silently with no UI reason given. Ofc I’d be interested if it’s the same category of error.
