Default QR code scanner app doesn't seem to work

Since moving to 3.1.4 A15, I have now a default QR code scanner app which I can launch from the drop-down shortcuts menu.

The app launches successfully, but doesn’t do anything. I point the camera at a QR code and the app has no reaction. And not having a “snapshot/activate” button, all I can do is point the camera at the QR code, make sure it is in focus and wait - but nothing ever happens.

Am I missing something, or the default QR scanner app is not working on 3.1.4 A15?

Hi

To launch the QR scanner, you need to switch to video camera with the logo of video camera. It will change to a QR switch. Click on it and the QR scanner will start.

Following your instructions launches the same qr scanner frontend that gets launched from the drop-down shortcuts menu, with the same effect: I see the square overlay, but the camera never actually actuates when hovering over the QR code - nothing actually happens.

hey centaurus

have just tested it on 3.1.4 a15 and at 3.1.4 a14. works without any problems. do not try to align the QR code directly into the window. with me it is then blurred it does not work. keep it a little more away so that the QR code becomes sharp.

Nope - still nothing. Even when the camera can focus properly.

I can confirm a 3rd party QR scanner app that I’ve just installed, works properly - no issues.

No problems with me at 3.1.4 a15

Which smartphone do you use?

I have a Google Pixel 7 pro.

have tested it on a xiaomi mi 9se and one with 9t. both devices have no problems in detecting the QR code in e/os.

Maybe others here have a pixel 7 pro and can test if it works.
