DeGoogled TV - do you know any?

BuzzTV has a new Linux TV box called the L1. I believe it is android hardware running Linux. After all Android is built on Linux. You can connect to IPTV servers or you could use external storage with it.

Edit: I see something saying it is a Linux box and I will clarify later, have to get an answer from them on it.

2nd Edit: The box is android hardware running Linux.

This sounds like exactly what I need to de-google my Chromebook while retaining the functionality that I need to continue using it as a media centre for my mp4 files. I will definitely check this out and see what is involved in installing it.

A bit more compact answer maybe? Panasonic TV’s; the Best; they work as expected and have NO Google / Android / Samsung / Other OS’s; just an intuitive interface; you can connect your Apple Tv easy peasy and it has programs you can add for yourself; NO wifi NOR ethernet is required at all!

Not sure if this is of help.I bought an End of Lease Lenovo M920q, Installed Debian 12, connecreted it to the Internet, use the HMDI port connect to a Samsung TV. Run a VPN, I can watch CBC Canada, all stations in Germany, New Zealand.

I build a DeGoogled TV right now with a raspberry pi 5, stremio OS (lineage TV), raspberry pi monitor and a remote control: RC Air Mouse and Keyboard from thepihut just for experimenting with it.

I’ve got this running on a Raspberry Pi which connects to my TV via HDMI. Kodi can be controlled with the TV remote or a phone app. Works like a charm.

Is stremio better than other proprietary solutions concerning privacy and security?

Thank you

Hi, stremio is built upon kostakang and is experimental i guess. That image got my raspberry to bootloop so i went back to kostakangs regular.

Thank you.

I see kostakangs is based on LineageOS as /e/OS is, but I guess not as much privacy friendly. I guess I will wait and see for another solution
