What works: RIL, Wi‑Fi, camera, Bluetooth; SELinux and encryption are currently disabled

Because /e/OS is a privacy‑focused fork of LineageOS, this ROM provides a solid starting point for an /e/OS port to the Key2 LE. I am happy to cooperate in testing, bug‑fixing, and documentation to help bring this device into the /e/OS lineup.
Would the team consider creating an /e/OS branch for this device?
Thank you for your time and effort.
BlackBerry phones were once synonymous with security—pair them with /e/OS and we’ll bring that golden age of safe, private mobile calling back to life.
I’ve never been this excited about something that technically isn’t working yet. The Wi‑Fi doesn’t connect, there’s no SIM card support, the camera and fingerprint sensor are non‑functional (I knew the camera issue was expected and still under development). Even the physical keyboard behaves oddly.
But the fantastic news is that the phone boots, and /e/OS is now running on it—and I’m already seeing that this system feels faster and smoother than the original factory Android 8. I truly believe this device has a bright future with this operating system!
One fact: I can only unlock the bootloader in tethered mode, which means every time I power the phone on I have to connect it via USB to a computer and run a script. An untethered bootloader unlock does exist in theory, but it hasn’t been released publicly yet.
I really appreciate your help! Let’s wait for the official LineageOS release and the public untethered bootloader unlock, and then continue testing /e/OS on the BB!
Thank you again for the time you put into this!
You can read detailed information about the LineageOS development for this device HERE.
I wish you a wonderful weekend!
thanks a lot, booted fine on Key2 - Athena. Unfortunatelly some things are not working, like camera and fingerprint , it is weird, because it was fixed and worked fine on Lineage. I will try to ask lineage developer about it.
k2 LE (luna) is not ready for daily use now ( camera and audio are not working now). You need to wait for fixes, or buy regular K2(athena). ROM for K2 is almost ready and usable. We are waiting for LOS to became official and with encryption and SElinux support.
Today I installed first Lineage OS, and a few hours later e/OS, on my Key2 LE.
Incredible! I still can not believe this is real!
o.k. some things don’t work - camera and sound, but I hope everything will be fine in next days.
Also, some apps are missing - mail, lounge, bliss weather… - in e/OS.
So, big respect and big thaks for all guys done this incredible and remarkable job!
Guys, you are master Jedi’s
Waiting for final release.
How can we contribute?
