Device Request – BlackBerry Key2 LE (Android 15) – LineageOS 22.2 as a base for /e/OS

sorry, forgot to answer on 2nd question - still didn’t try simcard, I installed eOS couple of hours ago. tomorrow I will try.

For better understanding .

Key2 LE - codename Luna

Key2 - codename athena

every devices have specific rom and recovery, also Key2 LE - Luna have specific issues.

we are here messing togeather two different devices.

Normal Key2 should have dedicated topic to avoid problems.

_______________

i agree, that some eos apps are missing in the rom, like weather, app store etc.

just to confirm about simcard - tried a few calling and answering, seems o.k.
also, internet 4G+ works.
forgot sending and receiving SMS, but I suppose it is also o.k.
BB-K2 LE - Luna, on eOS.

Thanks for your reply

I think it is bricked. I followed the steps in this page: https://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-key2-f472/run-android-15-key2-1198847/

After completion, the BB now stuck in the bootloader menu. There are 4 options:

1 Display barecode

  1. Bootup device
  2. Reboot into fastboot
  3. Turn off the device

2,3,4 does not work, just rebooting into same menu (bootloader).

I try to repeat all steps in the crackberry above, still no luck :frowning:

sorry to hear this.
I did 4 times installation (2 x Lineage and 2 x eOS) following this procedure:

and everything was o.k.
did you first perform installation of stock android 8 using autoloader?
do you have Key2 or Key2 LE?
try again.

Sorry, I should have announced the ROM as Custom ROM since some apps I left out due to partition size issues. This might be solved increasing the partition size

it’s o.k. we know it is still in testing phase, and we can survive.

desperately waiting for stable and final release, this is so promising.

Hiya  great to hear this key2 is being brought into 2026.

I have a Key2 black edition. Can we get a rom to work on that? It’s such a solid device that’s been sat in the cupboard for a few years would be great to get it back up and running

just 1 question - how to revert to stock android, after Lineage or eOS?
can it be done simply using autoloader, or some additional steps needed?

I’ll have to dust mine off and try it! I didn’t know it supported a bootloader unlock?

Either way, looking forward to trying! Thank you Ronnie!!

you can join : blackberry android hideout discord channel and under Key2 section you can find tutorial for rollback to stock android 8.

yes, bootloader unlock is possible now. follow tutorial here

if you have K2LE , do not forget to use correct autoloader ACT575 and correct recovery image.

I found the recovery and ROM for the Key2 LE (Luna) on XDA, but I can’t seem to find the ACT575 autoloader anywhere.

Could you please share a link to the correct ACT575 autoloader for the Luna?

Hey @ronnz98
I’ve just installed 3.5-a15-20260303 on my Key2LE Luna and everything works except the camera—which is a known issue—but AppLongue is missing. Is it possible to install it manually?

hi @jarastartalek

just 1 question on eOS on your Key2-LE - is screen working o.k.?
I mean, after installation on my Key2-LE, I noticed from time to time some flickering on a screen, it was also on Lineage OS, but on stock android 8, there was no problem.
so, I think maybe it is issue from software.
what about your?

The installation is still very fresh, but so far I haven’t noticed any issues with the display.
On my device, the screen was also fine with the previous /e/OS build and with LineageOS.
What I did notice, however, is that only 3G mobile data works, 4G doesn’t – but I’m not sure yet whether it’s just a settings issue or an actual bug.

hello, sorry for asking, but could you please compile rom for athena with latest fixes from github? thank you so much. new rom should include selinux, so i want to test it, if it is working .

info for all users, which are currently running eos-full WIPE is needed for running latest rom with enabled selinux.

new rom for luna is not needed, because no new fixes was released yet.

thanks again.

rom for key2 LE is not stable, as bochenek said - the developer of LOS, which is the base for eos.

thanx, I hope it is an issue in software, not in hardware.
I hope a new release will come soon.
