/e/OS 3.2 Fairphone 6 can't receive SMS

Hi, just installed the latest official /e/OS (3.2) on a new Fairphone 6 (Android). Asides from a lot of problems getting my WhatsApp data onto the phone, I cannot receive SMS which I need to setup banking etc. I can make and receive phone calls, as well as sending SMS. I checked the APN settings and everything seems to be correct. I have on eSIM installed. Anyone have any advice?

I do not know if it can help but can you try to send yourself a SMS ?

Can you double check that in default apps, the message app (or any other to your liking) is selected as sms app?

I tried but I didn’t receive anything - it shows as delivered but I don’t receive it. A friend sending me SMS from iPhone also shows them as delivered on their phone.

It is selected as the SMS app and has all permissions but unfortunately that hasn’t fixed it

Did you have an iPhone before? I am not an expert but is it possible iMessage (or maybe another sms over internet service) is interfearing and the messages arrive on your old phone?

Yes, I’m coming from iPhone. As far as I can tell, I already disabled iMessage and FaceTime from the settings on my iPhone. I logged out of both from my Mac so I’m not sure there is more I can do for that.

Yes, they seem to be correct.

Got the same problem with identity verification SMS (in my case kleinanzeigen.de).

If I put my SIM in another phone it works fine. Checked all the available settings for filters, but the problem persists. In the pre-installed messenger, there is a ‘built-in blocking functionality’ which apparently can`t be modified and which I at the moment suspect to be the troublemaker. On the other hand the ‘blocked messages‘ folder is empty and I`m having no trouble receiving SMS from private phone numbers.

Would be happy if anyone could help or if Fairphone/eFoundation found the cause, since this seems to be a reoccuring issue over the years (see e.g. SMS do not arrive under e/OS )
