e/OS/3.6-s-20260312593429-official-dreamlte; phone Samsung Gal. S8l; ip-address problem

Device: Samsung Galaxy S8 Phone (EU Lte)
e/OS/ version e/OS/3.6-s-20260312593429-official-dreamlte;

Problem:
My phone, at home, Wi-Fi on; gets some strange ip-address.
My DHCP is giving out ip-range; 192.168.178.etc but phone always adapts: 192.168.50.1
Only when I tick ‘Forget VPN’, it gets the right range ip-address.
VPN here; e/OS/ Advanced Privacy Shield → Green !
As I want my phone to be part of KDE-Connect recognizable devices, it should keep my local LAN DHCP assigned address; 192.168.178.42

Problem; each time, ‘out of nowhere’, it activates the “VPN” [Green Shield e/OS/ Advanced Protection] option again, re-instates the wrong ip-address 192.168.50.1 and is not recognizable on my Local LAN no more.

[Before telling me ‘this is as designed’: my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7, with exactly the same e/OS/ version [for Samsung Galaxy Tab - SMT-505 Lte of course] DOES keep it’s Local Lan address 192.168.178.140, with the ‘VPN Option’ activated!! ]

Where / who assigns the 192.168.50.1 to my phone, while ‘VPN Green Shield on’?
This problem manifests itself since 2 e/OS/ versions ago; each time with a new version I hoped it would be solved, but to no avail…
