E/os 4.2 and X that reduce itself after 1 sec

Hi,

I use /e/OS 4.2.a14 official on a Fairphone 4, and recently, the X app has been consistently minimizing itself after just a second or two. The app doesn’t close; it just minimizes—remaining active but invisible. Bringing it back to the foreground causes it to minimize again, making it impossible to use. I have to access it via a mobile browser instead. Is anyone else familiar with this issue?

I had this too. 4.3 update seems to have fixed it for me

4.3 release notes say:

:globe_with_meridians: Browser

  • Fixed a WebView preconnect crash causing third-party apps like X (Twitter) to crash on launch.

Hi, thanks. On my FP 4, I don’t have a 4.3 update yet ? How did you find it ?

It comes through OTA. As you are on official, you should get it too. If it does not show through Settings → System upgrade then it is probably the staggered release and you need to wait a bit. Or enable testing channel as described in that page. Or download the image and do a local upgrade - I have never done that and cannot find docs right now, but searching this forum probably helps, it is a frequently discussed topic here.
