/e/OS on FP3: data corrupt after update to /e/OS 1.6 :(

Hello everyone,

I search for help … :frowning:

Yesterday, I tried to update my FairPhone 3 to /e/OS 1.6 via phone’s settings.

I was tired and I didn’t made a backup (lucky me !!) …

The phone reboot and I got an error message:
White page with e logo
Recovery
Version 1.6
Active slot: a

Can’t load Android system. Your date may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need to perform a factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device.

I have three choices:
*Try again (didn’t work !)
*Factory data reset (I didn’t test because I hope recover some of my data)
*Return

Return:
*Reboot system now
*Apply update
*Factory reset
*Advanced

Advanced:
*Reboot to bootloader
*Reboot to recovery
*Mount-unmount system
*View recovery logs
*Enable ADB
*Power off

I didn’t try anything because I am worried to erase my data … :frowning:

Anyone has an idea to solve this problem ?

Edit: I think my bootloader is locked by default since I don’t remember unlocking the bootloader.

Hello @Blorp, I had a similar issue like others did yome time ago: FP3 auto-update 0.15 "Cant load Android system..."

Unfortunatly, I did not find a solution for it but with a later version of /e/ the installation worked. You might need to wait for the next 2 releases to work. After that the issue never occured again.
