Hi @soldan as mentioned above the changes are specific to stock ROM devices.

Developer verification is mostly required for stock phones with google services. De-googled phones aren’t affected. As of now it does not impact /e/OS or the apps on it. What changes Google may bring about in the future is not known and no point in speculating on what is not available in the code now. These changes will impact stock phones which are dependent on Google services.

What Google does in the future is not known to us. And as regards Government laws the response was already shared

We obey laws of the land as long as the laws are reasonable and justified and in the interest of the users. If we come up against unreasonable and unjustified rules and regulations, which are against the core values we believe in then we would always value the privacy of our users first and foremost. This goes without saying.
As I mentioned earlier do not use this forum to turn it into a us against them platform and discuss hypothetical scenarios. Decisions are made based on situations we face. If we come up against such restrictive rules, we will always side by our users
