Regarding
https://community.e.foundation/privacy#data-retention

What is your data retention policy?

We will make a good faith effort to:
.
Retain server logs containing the IP address of all requests to this server no more than 90 days.
Retain the IP addresses associated with registered users and their posts no more than 5 years.

Did you know logs will be retained 90 days or 5 years?

  • No, OMG, Yikes, unbelievable!
  • No, Hmm, OK
  • No, Whatever, who cares
  • Yes, Whatever, who cares
  • Yes, Hmm, OK
  • Yes, but hoped no one else saw
  • Yes, OMG, Yikes, Unbelievable

I’m a bit surprised that @GaelDuval opted for “I don’t care how long Logs and visit data are kept” as data minimalization should also be a principle of a privacy-focused foundation.
Is it because the /e/-website is not necesserally connected to the OS itself or is this your actual opinion on this topic?

Right, @ gael’s twice “I don’t care” misled me, too. I wouldn’t expect those words from a privacy conscious person like he pretends to be.

Would like to hear your opinion on this
