I have a Moto G 5G Plus with E/OS ( version 2.4.1-t-20241010439582, Build e_nairo-user 13 TQ3A.230901.001 eng.root.20241010.112530)

MicroG 0.3.240913-22

The Ebay app has problems , installs fine but I get a sign in error

I tried turning off the tracker and Real IP blockers within ‘Advanced Privacy settings’ and manually enabling permissions . Is there a specific version I should try

I am downloading both from ‘Aurora Store’ and ‘App Lounge’ ( version 6.182.0.1 )

Any suggestions please?

That error has been around for a long while on a number of custom ROMs that use microG in place of Google’s APIs and libraries.

I don’t know of any way to get the app working: the ‘workaround’ is to use a web browser. That works well enough for me, and has the advantage of not cluttering up my phones with unnecessary apps :slight_smile:

I managed to get ebay app working by installing an old version from March …

Using the web version proved unfriendly

Yes - I tried that but couldn’t get it to work.

And ‘unfriendly’ is fairly subjective: I actually prefer the Web UI and UX

I had been using the web version in brave , the elements were wrapping and generally pages broke …

I too prefer using web versions where possible due to being less resource intensive

Works perfectly for me in Mozilla-based browsers (Fennec, Mull). I don’t use Chromium-based browsers (though I have an installation of pure Chromium around on one of my machines, tha I never got around to uninstalling).
