Error connecting to public Wi-Fi due to HTTP Strict Transport Security

When trying to load the login page of the Berlin airport Wi-Fi I got the following error message in both Fennec and I think similarly worded in the built-in browser:

https://204.murena.io had a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Fennec can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

Only after luckily finding this topic: Error connecting WiFi connecting to connectivity.murena.io and opening http://httpforever.com/ I was correctly forwarded to the login page.

Am I correct to assume that this is due to a security feature of /e/OS? Other, non-/e/OS phones worked. Would it not make sense to change this?

Wow, thanks for opening this ticket - and so quickly!

Sorry for the typo in the error message. It’s “has” as in the screenshot and not “had” ( “https://204.murena.io has …”) as in my text.

My phone is an FP5 with 3.0.4-t official.
