Eufy home security app

Hello all,

If anyone could tell me if the eufy app fully works on E, that would be greatly appreciated.

Its in Aurora and works on Android when downloaded from there.

I do need to have access to my home security cameras.

Thank you.

Eufy has a good privacy score https://reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/en/reports/com.oceanwing.battery.cam/latest/ with no reported trackers. There are a few variants listed and I tested Eufy-original Eufy security

Version 5.4.00_17920
com.oceanwing.battery.cam

It is quite large at 598MB but installs ok allows registration and login ok. I did get to some sort of stall in adding location. In a first pass test neither manual add address nor via provided MapLibre to aid Location would allow to pass this stage.

In response to the stall the app moves to the App permissions screen, which I did free up mostly as “when app is in use” but still no address registration could be entered or saved.

I have no suitable device to permit Add device, untested.

Tested on 3.2-a15-20251024539369-community-ocean

Thank you for checking it, much appreciated.

On Android, the app does insist on location when linking devices; I had to switch off my VPN for linking.

The way the eufy app works is that once you’ve set up the home base and cameras, you can monitor the live feed and recordings from any other device with the app.

So I’d be happy to set up the security system with an android device, but monitor live feed/recordings with E, which would be my daily use phone.

If anyone E users are using their phone with a eufy homebase setup, be great to know.

Looks like I’m the one that’ll have to take the plunge with this…

The app seems to work on Graphene, according to another forum anyway.

If I need to reinstall android, how hard is it?

I guess it depends on the device. You need to find a source of the manufacturer’s “stock” ROM. Hopefully their Support > Firmware page is the place to look. Sometimes the /e/OS device page will have a roll back link.

Hee @edmundus, did Eufi app work for you in the end on /e/OS?

Edit: for others viewing this thread I can confirm Eufi app and cameras work well with /e/OS
