The European Union has started a bounty programme (within the EU-FOSSA action plan) for Free and Open Source Software ealier this year - aiming at finding bugs and security issues in FOSS. One of the beneficiaries of this programme was VLC.
Currently, the EU is conducting a survey to find out how to support better free and open source developpers.
The survey is quite generic, still maybe s.o. from /e/ interested to reply?
