Hello all! Got my FP4 yesterday and when I first unboxed it the location seemed to work OK on my wifi, without eSim on yet. I did the update and location was lost completely.
I have used the recovery option to wipe the device and now I even have eSIM setup (from Murena) and still no location.
I have even taken it as far as to now have pushed the latest official IMG to the phone via adb/fastboot on my Linux laptop.
I just tried to reset my eSim but now I am locked out because I cannot re-add it and see no option in the Mobile area to reset this. 
OK figured out how to reset the eSim to install a new one, still no location though
Also no internet via Murena eSim.
I see no APN’s maybe that is issue.
Have you had a look at the “Advanced Privacy” settings? (The screen to the left of the main screen) I cannot say what is currently set as default, but Advanced Privacy allows to give a fake location to all (or selected) apps.

hi urs_lesse, I have it, shows off for both Fake Geolocation and Hide IP Address.
So I noticed in another thread someone else in same situation complaining about no location. Seems APN’s are not being set in US.
I followed their instructions and I have location data now.
Interesting though is why I had location data when I first booted phone but then when wiped did not.

Location is being derived from different sources by default.
Depending on where you were, perhaps the phone got the location via satellite (GPS etc.) initially, and afterwards this wasn’t possible anymore?
There are quite a few settings involved, too, see Settings - System - microG - Location, and Settings - Location.

Thanks for that @AnotherElk I didnt think to check there but looking now everything shows enabled there.
I will say you might have been on to something, thinking about it my office is our basement surrounded by 1950’s cinderblocks so maybe the signals were blocked.
I just was outside and Maps app had my exact location.
