Fairphone 4, Camera App restarts itself when putting phone in trousers

I recently updated e/OS to version v3.2 (from some much older version, done in several steps). Now there is a strange behaviour of the camera app (Camera v1.53.1) and I’m not sure if this is a fault of the app or of e/OS: Whenever I take a picture and then click the large button on the right, the picture vanishes as expected. When I put the phone after that in my pocket, the camera seems to restart again. At least, when I remove it from my pocket, the camera is on, the phone is hot and the battery is empty. (Strange as is, I cannot repeat this behaviour without putting the phone in my pocket.)

Did anyone else encounter this? Is there a posibility to stop this? What could I do to find out more about this problem?

I don’t use stock /e/OS camera app with my FP4, I use the Fairphone Camera app. But trying to reproduce your steps, I can’t find this button.

By the way, welcome.

With “large button” I mean the button, which you use to start/shutdown the phone (which also detects the fingerprints).

Understand.

I think there are 2 things.

The first: the app is set to run over other apps and maybe has fast access when the phone is locked. In the settings, “More camera controls…” you should find “Show the camera when phone is locked”.

The second: I think the shutdown button sometimes is pushed when the phone is in the pocket (and this could be the reasons why you can’t reproduce outside the pocket).

Sounds reasonable. Removing the fast access seems to work.

Unfortunately I like this fast access. And it did work before I updated. Maybe the fingerprint was checked in earlier versions? I could verify that it is not checked now.
