I noticed that all of the most commonly replaced parts of the fp4 are currently out of stock at the Murena US store; Batteries, LCD screens, and the USB-C port. How long has this been the case? My screen is broken and unusable, and it looks like I don’t have any reliable options to replace it.
Murena has been nothing but disappointing since I purchased anything from this company and the one thing that brought me here, repairability, seems to be a total lie at this point.
The Fairphone Store doesn’t ship to the US/Canada, but Murena does. Murena also made sure to advertise the long life and repairability of Fairphones, but that doesn’t really mean anything to Canadians and Americans if we can’t get the parts.
Then you should first contact the helpdesk to check with them. The current situation with the tariffs will stop many companies of holding stock in the US.
I’ve messaged the help desk. Perhaps you are right, but I don’t think this is the case since Canada (less than 10km away from me) also doesn’t have any FP4 parts available.
I signed up for Murena to email me if and when the parts become available. They finally did, although I’m not sure when as I never got a notification for that. I had bought a cheap phone in the meantime as I thought I wouldn’t ever get the FP4 fixed. I was able to return that phone unopened.
It took almost a month to replace the screen. The replaced parts cost about 60% of the price of a new phone (as far as it goes for how much I would typically spend). On a positive note I don’t have to go about setting up and transferring to a new device.
