[FEATURE PROPOSAL] rewarding better use: batching and scrolling detector

Big tech’s love for tracking us is intrinsically connected to their attempts to create smartphone addicts of us. Privacy is one step, but I hope /e/ will aim for more design that helps our wellbeing. Two of my suggestions:

  • Enable batching of all notifications (choosing the time when we want an update from any app, and complete silence otherwise)
  • A pop-up message after the user has been scrolling for a while, to get us out of that mindless behaviour

Haha, I know that as well as “don’t get a smartphone”. I still like to be able to access the internet without getting notifications at random intervals. It’s the variability that has negative effects on users.
