Release Information

Please share feedback on v2.2 build for your device and let us know how it is working with applications that you use.

  • The release will be staggered over the next couple of days starting from 22 July up to 29 July.
  • The release notes will show up here once we initiate the release
  • To report issues with the build or applications raise an issue on gitlab
  • Bliss Launcher v3 pl note it is only available on A12 or /e/OS S and A13 or /e/OS T

  • The random crashes to bootanimation which send back to lockscreen is still here.

  • Gcam port still crash because of “No HRD+ compatible raw format supported”.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 2020 (LTE) SM-T505

Device CodeName: gta4l
Version of Stock which existed previously: T505XXS7CXB1 Binary BIT-7 (seven)
The device is Not rooted

It was to be expected that /e/OS-T V2.2, like the previous versions, cannot be installed with the current Samsung stock firmware T505XXS7CXB1 Binary BIT-7 (seven) as the cause of failure has not yet been corrected.

It’s a good thing that there are bug-free custom ROM alternatives. Bye-by/e/

Great news (respectively confirmation) in release notes:

:iphone: Fairphone 4

  • You’ll now be able to enjoy Fairphone’s default camera app to take pictures if you want to, you just need to enable one setting in Settings > Apps > Fairphone Camera and reboot your phone. Warning though, for now the video mode does not work, it’ll be fixed in a next release.
  • The 48MP/50MPx mode has been added into /e/OS Camera for this phone

Hi everybody,

Regression since version 2.0 :

  • all the elements of the display are shifted to the right ;
  • changing the default launcher by Smart Launcher produces :
    a. infinite loop of Bliss Launcher with an error message ;
    b. rapid oscillations of the display (vertical oscillations)

Nevertheless a big thank you for the work done to every member of your team :+1:

The update went rather smoothly, but I thought download was a bit unstable.

By the way, I really think the App Tracker Control is brilliant idea & hope it will continue to improve.
The reason for this is because one of my bank apps started to block VPN, and I have to temporarily turn VPN off in order to use it (which I think it’s a stupid of them to implement such a thing).
I think the app is blocking vpn by detecting the port, because I can still connect one through vpn sharing from a hotspot.

Everything OK.
SaftyNet still can not be passed. It was passing on S versions and fails on T versions as reported in separate post.

Note about the Camera app- I checked your app on a smartphone without e/OS/.
And theoretically everything is ok, but when you set yourself to take continuous pictures, e.g. every second, Focus Continuous (default), then after some time (variously half an hour, or even after a while) . The photos begin to be slightly blurred, which is not even specially visible when looking at the smartphone screen. Turning off the application and restarting it improves the situation, but until it happens again. Of course Open Camera has no problem with this.

The update should now be available to all FP4 owners, both stable and dev. Really curious to read about your experiences with Fairphone’s camera app. :slight_smile:

V2.2 release notes say that one just need to enable one setting to get the “Fairphone native camera”. But unable to find this setting…?

For the rest (I will vote later on) it seems everything’s perfect on FP4.
