I got the OTA update from 3.0.4-a15-20250708507307-official-FP6 to v3.1.2 for my Fairphone 6.
The main issue is that the original IMEI (SIM slot 1) (primary) has been replaced by a different IMEI, namely 004400152020000, which I’ve read has affected a number of users as I’ve subsequently read in other threads. Until there’s a fix, I’ll go back to using my old phone as using a device with a changed IMEI shared by multiple users might be problematic.
Issues being reported on the FP6 post installation of IMEI showing up a different number has been shared with the team.
Will update on the response.

Please could you also confirm whether “official” v3.1.2 for FP6 is a proper official build or if it is a slipped testing build signed with testing keys? Thanks!
As well, would it make sense to remove the build from the server to prevent users who haven’t taken the OTA from doing so?
Check with the team on the v3.1.2 release and asking for adding it to the release note.

This morning my phone FairPhone 6 told about the new update of 3.1.2 and I installed it.
The IMEI codes are now correct so this update fixed the problem.
I did panic yesterday and went to my ISP Telia to renew my eSIM. That eSIM does not work, but the physical SIM does work. Also both IMEI’s look correct so probably eSIM would work as well if it would not have renewed with broken code.

Just saw another v3.1.2 update in the updater this morning. Will try to install it (although I am already on v3.1.2…)
EDIT: New update seems to have solvef the IMEI issue.

For the FP6 users on A15 pick up v3.1.2 release dated September 3 build directly. We will remove the 28 August build
The FP6 A15 v3.1.2 dated Sep 3 has the fix for the IMEI issue.

Hey Manoj, I believe a 3.1.2 feedback thread should be created!
In /e/os system setting, when clicking on “release notes” I get sent to this link:

I can also confirm that the IMEI issue is fixed for me after the update and my phone is working again. Thank you for the quick fix!
The SwitchHandler application is still crashing btw though.

Hi,
I recently bought an FP6 and chose to have it preinstalled with /e/OS/.
Everything was fine until today, where my phone suggested that I install the latest update of /e/OS, which is 3.1.2-a15-20250828521531-official-FP6. Being used to keeping my device up-to-date whenever requested (and absolutely not being an expert), I installed the update.
Since then, my mobile data connection is very unstable and slow, H+ at best when it doesn’t completely disconnect. With the previous version (3.0.4 I think) everything was fine, very stable 5G.
Is this a known issue? Is there anything I can do except waiting for a new update which fixes the problem?

Reported here, Feedback for v3.1.1 - #133 by aibd several users have reported in that thread. And FP6 Sim 1 Not allowed in e/os 3.1.2 EDIT: NOW FIXED
