Update struggled with download speed as reported above.
No issues with any apps that I use. The UI is nice and snappy. The battery drain on idle mode has gone away with the previous update. (Iâm still grumbling away to myself about Android 13 still being in place but otherwise I am over my vocalised issues on the matter)
Mile buiochas to all involved.
Failed update from 3.1.4 to 3.2 here:
The update did not proceed, apparently the image verification failed⌠(tried twice)
Downloaded and installed yesterday. All went OK, but the download kept stopping when my phone went to sleep. Able to resume each time it happened, but took several hours as a result of the frequent stoppages.
Small issue with the eternally reappearing Advanced Privacy notification but long-pressed it and turned off the notifications.
Was so looking forward to the Fairphone photo app (and indeed the interface and proper native support for the FP6âs camera is lovely), but photos come out incredibly over-sharpened with white âhalosâ or outlines around high contrast areas. Thatâs not the fault of e/OS though!

Generally an excellent update.

I was surprised getting the upgrade to A15, before A13.
Download very slow with breaks in between, as already reported from others.
A15 seems to be more fluent as before. Nice green Welcome screen at boot ![]()
The battery charge limit works ![]()
App Lounge:
First run it showed just 3 apps for update. That happend in the past as well.
Cleared cache, reboot - now all apps for update are shown.
BUT
I neither can update an existing nor install a new app!
Clicking on the update button it shows â0%â and stays there e.g. Signal app
In the notification it says
App Lounge
âWird installiert Signal - Sicherer Messengerâ
I tried Wifi and mobile Data as well - no progress.
For test purposes I installed an App âwhoBirdâ from F-Droid, it worked.
Deinstalled the app, searched it in App Lounge, tried to install it - same
as before, shows â0%â and no progress.
It didnât work 100% in the past, but at least I was able to install and update,
which is currently not possible.
Hopefully there is a solution to this.
Thanks for the good work,
Regards,
Workaround:
Install Aurora Store from F-Droid (itâs what App Loungeâs Play Store part is modeled after).
In Aurora Storeâs Settings - Updates, enable Filter apps from other sources (âDonât check for updates for apps installed from sources outside Aurora Storeâ), so that Aurora Store only shows updates for Apps it installed itself to avoid some common pitfalls (e.g. Aurora Store mistaking microG for Google Play Services and trying to update them, which doesnât work but might be annoying).
Force-stop App Lounge in /e/OS Settings - Apps - App Lounge, so that it doesnât interfere once it possibly works again. This will probably not survive reboots.
Once you want go back to using App Lounge, do it the other way around and force-stop Aurora Store, so that it doesnât interfere.
There can be times when Aurora Store canât access the Play Store in Anonymous mode either.
You can try to log out of Aurora Store and simply try again ⌠cogwheel top right - Manage your account - Log out. If you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can also try whether leaving it and trying again via mobile network will help.
If the Filter apps setting is too restrictive for your needs and you want Aurora Store to update other Apps âŚ
Thanks a lot.
Installed Aurora, it took over also my settings from MicroG and I
could update e.g. Dropbox.
Regards,
Flawless update, no problems detected after several days of daily usage. Good job!
I am a bit conflicted on the new permanent Advanced Privacy notification. I have the notification enabled (but minimized to a single line) because I find it interesting if (or better, when) a tracker is blocked. At the same time, it is another process running in the background: You obviously need the process if you want to use the notification as I do, but you cannot turn the process off if you do not want to use this feature.

All seems fine. BUT, the update from 3.1.4 to 3.2 took about 2 hours and numerous try because of connexion.
And it is not a15. Still a13 (t). When can we have it?
All seems OK, except the classical blur camera pbm. The camera issue blur (described here or there ) is still here : when I take a picture with lens1 the final picture is blurry when Iâm in âmanualâ mode

The update went smoothly. I didnât find any new bug.
The Fairphone camera app works as intended, but I would have preferred to get more detail in the release note about which information it collects and how it is used. Users distrust towards AI is warranted.
The switch customization works as intended. Unfortunately, I donât think itâs possible to find it the search in the settings and the release note did not mention the options were in âSystemâ settings, so I had to dig for it.
The battery charge limit works, even with the notification off. This is a great feature, thanks to the team!
Can anybody use casting with the FP6? Either sound or screen?
Updated this morning and all seemed fine.
But I just notice I dont seem to be able to move my apps arround anymore.
Am I missing some new setting or is it a bug?
Edit: i missed a setting, might have turned it on by accident

After updating the device to 3.2 A15 it is completely dead.

I guess it does not vibrate when you connect it to charge, right?

All went as expected. Device working fine! Thanks for the team!
It is recognized by lsusb and seems to be in QDL mode.
Also the bootloader is probably locked, maybe the image fails to properly load because of certificate issues? Edit: as other people with FP5 and locked bootloader didnât have issues thats not the cause

TL;DR my slow upgrade speed forensics revealed: beware OpenVPN using mobile data even when connected over WiFi.
Investigating my slow upgrade download of 4h requiring multiple restarts, likely due to server congestion when others also upgraded, I noticed as Privacy says VPN not supported on your platform and I earlier had installed âOpenVPN Connectâ for VPN-based endpoint stability over tor routing, the data was flowing over mobile data also when WiFi was connected. Luckily I have a very generous data plan. Also despite upgrade image downloaded over cellular I doubt the slow speed being due to cellular as otherwise my cellular speeds are fast at home.
This behavior might be mitigated by disabling backround cellular data use (which makes VPN use over cellular a more manual-setting-requiring process). Or by always temporarily disabling mobile data while connecting over VPN. I have not verified the latter is reliably not using mobile data.
The above as info for /e/OS team in routing and when looking at VPN feature on the âPrivacyâ app. Ideally VPN also masters well IPv6, does traceroute checks with leak alerts, and circumvents network level VPN blocking by even auto fallbacks to lists of alternative providers such as TCP based VPN over port 443, even with VPN gateways supporting http obfuscations to hide itâs VPN traffic, for example.
I verified from data plan account that phone based cellular data counter in the above was correctly counting mobile data usage.
