It’s probably in your account/line settings. You should be able to contact Orange if you don’t find the info you need.
I have a FP4 and I just upgraded to /e/OS 3.3 yesterday. /e/OS version is 3.3-a14-20251210556409-official-FP4. I have used the /e/OS camera app so far. I obtained my phone in May 2025 as a participant in the pilot project by Waag Futurelab and I have now bought it from Murena. I am quite happy with the phone as it’s a huge improvement over the FP1 that I was still using for making phone calls, sending and receiving SMS messages and listening to the FM radio.
Reading your mail I learned that I can switch to the Fairphone camera app. I have found the switch and I successfully switched Is that recommendable and what are the advantages of using the Fairphone camera app?
This number is already programmed onto your SIM card.”
I meant APN something like this.
But I realize that APN has not much to do with SMS.
Something I have been encountering: My FP5 is not identified as an FP5 but as a Pixel 2 on 3.3. Is that normal behaviour?
Just generally speaking the native Fairphone camera app is certainly the option most closely tailored to this device. The /e/OS camera app is a fork of OpenCamera and – very simplified speaking – a “one fits all” camera app for all devices that run /e/OS.
You might have noticed that activating the Fairphone camera app does not replace the /e/OS camera app, it is simply an additional option. You can always choose which camera app you want to use each time you want to take photos (or videos), so it should be easy to try it out a bit.
P.S.: Quite remarkable you used the Fairphone 1 for so long (I used the FP1 for 6-7 years, on an FP3 since March 2021).
Where did you see that? Some things are ‘spoofed’ and sometimes you can change that option
Thank you, I tried that but it still doesn’t work.
+32495002530 is the correct SMSC number.

I have a few bugs with 3.3:
- Problems with network (I have Red by SFR, and I read somewhere above that the bug was fixed with v3.3, but it is not working for me) : when I switch OFF then ON airplane mode I always loose internet connexion. To enable it again: Settings > Network and internet > SIMs > mobile data : OFF then ON. This is actually very annoying because I use airplane mode may times a day.
- The keyboard sometimes opens after pressing the home button (so there is the keyboard opened with nothing but the home screen) ;
- I feel like the home button is slightly bigger than before because I keep returning to the homescreen while typing, since the last update to v3.3.
Here are other bugs I have notived recently (but not sure if they come from v3.3):
- In the Message app, I have 2 “threads” with the same names (this happened only for one contact) : I receive the messages sent back to me in another “thread";
- In the Firefox Browser app, when I delete a word in the search bar and the first letter of this word, it completely reappear. And I cannot delete the previous search, so I have to use a new tab.
- The Merlin Bird app have never worked on my FP5: when trying to record birds, there is no audiograms, and the app usually crashes when the recording is stopped.
Thank you!

Hello all, happy new year!
Unfortunately I have found an issue since the new update: I can no longer record video with the stock camera app that ships with /e/OS. It just says Failed to save video recording.
When I try it with the Fairphone camera app I can record, but it is extremely low quality.
Not sure if this is related to v3.3, or if something else is going on.
When I log in on my Google account for something and I get an 2FA prompt on my OnePlus Pad. Then it says that I have logged in on a Pixel 2 and I was wondering if that might be the reason for my issues with Android Auto. When I connect to my car via USB my phone gives me a notification that this device cannot be connected to USB and a link to the Pixel 9 webpage.

I have an issue with the Notes app. I always get a “synchronisation failure” when launching the app.
This issue is also reported here by other user: Notes sync issues (again) - version 3.3 on FP5
This issue occurs just after the update, no problem with v3.2.

Held off until today to update. Update completed in 46 minutes with no issue, including just 5 minutes for download.
Initial testing of basic functions & apps shows these appearing to be working fine: wi-fi, mobile data, bluetooth, phone, message, mail, browser, App Lounge (common apps, only checking for updates and search so far), and various other apps.
No mobile data initially, but that restored with a reboot. GPS location fix obtained in 3-4 minutes, accurate within a further 10 seconds.
The new Workspace app is of no use to me, but simple enough to tuck it away in a folder with some other pre- installed apps I don’t use.
My FP6 is also visible under a different model name. That was the case even before the 3.3 update. I read somewhere (in my phone settings or murena account?) that murena/ eOS changes the “appearance” of the phones to outside receivers to a different phone model name for enhanced privacy. When I look at my Google account I see my activities not under FP6 but under a different model name. Unfortunately I can not remember where I read about this setting and if you can opt out oft it. Maybe someone else on here knows?
@Aziraphale Under system → microg there is a device registration which can be used to spoof.
I don’t know if AppLounge also spoofs device since I don’t use a google account.
I am encountering the same issue here, also running on Fairphone 6.
I was able to disable the sync by logging into my Murena workspace on my computer, then going to Account Settings → Client Synchronization and then de-selecting the check box. It is not ideal because I would like to be able to sync my notes but not my photos.
@aedris When I go this path in my phone I can select many different types of data to synchronize: settings → accounts → murena.io account → account synchronization.
There I can select photos, contacts, calender, mail, notes etc. For example I disabled just photos. So I guess you could disable all but notes?

Everything works fine so far (I updated a week ago), but battery performance is dramatically lower. I need to recharge twice as often as before. In the battery usage statistics, I see “Réseau Mobile” (mobile network) at 30 to 35%, whereas it was around 10% before.
My usage profile hasn’t changed. I don’t do many voice call, so mobile network use is almost exclusively data. As a test, I compared a weekend day at home (Wifi) to a usual day moving around, and indeed battery usage is very low when my phone stays in Wifi.
This was effective, thank you.
