Yes.
My verdict is devastating.
But first things first.
* Vendor name: Fairphone
* Device name: Fairphone 3+
* Version of /e/OS: 3.5-t-20260211580869-official-FP3
* Device is NOT rooted
Update ran smoothly, install time 0:40 hrs, no break-ups.
Everything seems to work properly.
As I had uninstalled Element (a Matrix client that used a heck of battery) tried again after three days of slightly better performance than on v3.4.
After seven days now I experience a daily usage of 52,0 % resulting in a lasting for 1,92 days which is ridiculously low.
The hungriest apps are
Element (31,4 %)
ntfy (21,1 %)
ntfy* (14,9 %)
mobile network (14,9 %)
The rest (17,7 %) becomes distributed between the others.
Before trying an alternative to Element, Iād like to know more on ntfy.
What exactly does it to rectify more than double of the use of mobile network itself?
To me it still seems to be poorly integrated, as I canāt even find any menu point on it other than in Apps (which isnāt very helpful).
I have not seen such a poor performance in the last three years, as it is displayed since v3.3: we see a doubling of the usage and the real problem is that it seems to stabilze on a very, very low level now for the third version.
To be earnest I think about abandoning eOS and switching to Lineage if this persists.
The Android-version upgrades (as pointed out by @piero) do never come OTA for community builds but can (least for sunfish in my experience) easily be āsideloadedā (= manually downloaded and installed over an existing install of the predecessor A-version), presumably that would be done one A-version after the other and not jump from 13 to 15 directly, but maybe that is possible too (?)
Version of /e/OS or Stock which existed previously: previous update
Is the device Rooted / Not rooted: not rooted
Hello, since the update, my battery is draining much faster even if I donāt use the phone. I now have to recharge every day or even twice a day, when before every two days was sufficient.
⦠Push notifications startet working for me yesterday for Element ?? i did install ntfy from applounge and it didnt work. After removing it and switching Element back to the provided ntfy install it started working after been unusable since some releases.
On Fairphone 3 / FP3+ 3.5-a15 (community) / non rooted, I have a weird bug on the phone app: when calling someone, the loud speaker option is activated and cannot be deactivated! unless I pug in a headphone, in which case this button can be pressed (on/off)
My observation is that since the introduction of ntfy in v3.3 the usage plainly doubled. Those were the worst versions in the last three years according to power consumption. This thingy consumes far more battery power than the whole mobile network.
That results in a lasting time of less than two days and about three hours of daily caring time.
Iām not having this permanently.
I have add a comment in case of. But I think it sshoukd be checked if phone is really in slow charge even if it displays auicj charge on lock screen. No ?
The issue only occurs with secondary user, not owner:
After switching user, when swiping up (to leave/close app), the minimized (50-70% of screen) app freezes on screen and stays there. To remove it, I have to close phone to lock screen & re-open.
Since the last update, I canāt listen to music (murena app) or watch a movie (brave) any more, the tablet goes in āveilleā mode if I donāt touch the screen.
I just hope I did something wrong with the parameters but I donāt think soā¦
