Feedback for v3.6

My FP6 with /e/ has crashed 3 times today and once yesterday (it was just shut down when I took it out of my pocket) after updating to 3.6.

How should I troubleshoot this? Never had an issue before

Hello

very new here - received my e/os FP6 two days ago and am generally happy with it but have encountered multiple issues which seem to have forum threads here dating back months, but no solutions.

- the phone randomly reboots multiple times a day

- wifi disconnecting and refusing to reconnect until the device is rebooted

- wallpapers are distorted.

I was prompted to update the system twice in a row when i first booted the phone, first from v3.4 to v3.5, then to v3.6.

as i updated right after receiving the phone i can’t be sure if my issues stem from the updates or something else.

Main issue is the rebooting - no pattern has emerged yet, sometimes they happen while listening to music with the phone in my hand, sometimes while i nap with the phone resting on a table nearby. I see posts with similar issues dating back years and am quite worried that a fix was seemingly never found?

wifi disconnect issue also has forum threads dating back at least to october 2025, couldn’t find a fix there either.

Lastly - wallpapers do not appear the way i align them in the settings, the app dock at the bottom of the screen additionally often cuts up the wallpaper and opening folders pixelates the wallpaper instead of blurring it. Forum posts suggest that cutting the image to fit the screen exactly could solve this issue, but even the preinstalled wallpapers are cut up by the app dock, though often to a lesser extent.

All of these issues have been extremely prominent to me after just 2 days of use and have already been reported through forum threads months, in one case even years ago and yet still persist. Could the device be faulty? Or did i mess something up during set up? Any help would be appreciated - sorry if this is not the right space for this post.

(edit:) advanced privacy option also tells me that it has blocked 15 leaks so far - all of which come from the system itself, all of them seemingly being related to Google firebase analytics. I doubt the system itself would include harmful tracking - could whitelisting these ā€œleaksā€ potentially resolve my issues?

This is the first version I install on the pixel 8 (bought this phone specially for testing /e/).

So far so good, everything is working! Coming from a S25, so adjusting still to /e/. Frankly, quite impressive to see such a functional custom rom. I can’t use it as a daily driver yet, but it will be used moderately daily.

Kudos to the dev team!

"Dirtyā€ Upgrade to 3.6-a16-community. No issues so far.
Many thanks to the team maintaining this device.

I recall there was an option to customize color scheme.

Just updated to 3.6-a16-20260319596015-community-dre and I’m not find these…

Would appreciate if anyone checks and confirms. Thanks.

You can have Search: accent colour as long as it is blue. It was decided on some time ago, I saw no move to change.

Thanks, although that was 4 years ago.

Coincidentally prior to Android 12 when Dynamic Color was introduced by Android.

On my fairphone 4 FP4 the sound is always too low during calls.

I didn’t delete the connection in car, just toggled switch to don’t connect my phone with AA.
Then switched on again and my FP6 was connected. But calls don’t work properly. Call sound doesn’t go through car speakers. But GPS and music apps are ok.

Everything works fine after update.

Thanks guys!

Hello,
I reported the low-volume-on-FP4-calls feedback I was able to find in this ā€œFeedback for v3.6ā€ post, on Gitlab here Issues reported on v3.6 (#9277) Ā· Issues Ā· e / Backlog Ā· GitLab
Please let me know in case I missed some similar related feedback and, if you can, keep reporting here and/or on that gitlab issue.
Thanks all!

Thank you very much, that helped me too. Some apps do close right away when I launch them via AA, but overall it’s working again.

Both updated from v3.5 to v3.6 official.

Fast download, smooth update

For now I have the following problem: when I go outside for a walk, I turn off WiFi. When I get home, I can only turn on the WiFi by logging in again with a password. At home I can switch the WiFi on and off without any problems.

Thank you team for all the work.

Also seeing this on FP6, official /e/OS.

I found no issues so far. Also Android Auto works. I have opened HereWego and Chargemap and was able to start the route to see if the error message appears. It did not appear.

Applounge alone is not very reliable. I always have Aurora Store as a Backup. In Aurora there was an update for Android Auto that I have installed. May be that eas the reason I got no error message.

Whenever I search for an app in teh App-Lunge it shows up and I can click install from the list but nothing happens.
If I select the app to open the details page it shows a ā€œYour application was not found.ā€-message.
I cleared Cache, restarted the phone but I can’t seem to install new apps at the moment.

I found the ā€œApp Compatiblity Servicesā€ under Accounts and enabled that and restarted but also didn’t work.
Strangely the Design for the ā€œApp Comparibility Servicesā€-Toggle implies that it has a sub-menu when clicked but I can’t access that.

I tried a workaround with Aurora Store but when I open the details view there it tells me that this ā€œApp not available for your deviceā€ which makes me think that perhaps some system-identifier is set wrongly which is causing the error in App-Lounge, too?

Would be nice to know if wificalling works on any other devices…
