Feedback for v3.7

There’s a very very minor thing that has been bugging me ever since I started using /e/OS. When Fake Location is on, you get a notification reading: ‘All apps using your location including your navigation app are now using this fake location’. The part in italic appears regardless of whether Magic Earth (or any other navigation apps) are exempted from Fake Location.

Yes, /e/OS updates are full images, they are not incremental.

The only difference in the process should be whether the updater gets the update file from the internet or from local storage, else updating should work the same.

For me, i can see the update on my fp6!

Just an upüdate from my end: I fixed it!

It seems somehow the Android WebView implementation in the developer settings where deactivated and set to “none“.

I selected the standard WebView again and now every app is working fine again

… and now I’ve actually found another issue: OnePlus 6T (fajita) has got no Maps app on /e/OS 3.7.1

Just to make sure its not caused by a different issue (that I experienced): do you have the same issues with apps when connecting to the internet using your phone data, or only when using WiFi?

The problems are there with or without WiFi or cellular data.

I have had issues for the last couple of versions with spellcheck. I am a Dutch user andere have set the spellchecker tot adhere to the system languages. Those are set tot Dutch and English.

However, Dutch words are spell-checked properly, but when inputting any English word, it never accepts it as an English word nut always wants tot correct it tot a Dutch word.

I have tried many settings-combinations with languages (system- and for spell check specifically), but it never works as desired.

Would be great if this can be resolved, thanks!

Updated to 3.7.3-a16-20260507618655-official-avicii.

Device: OnePlus Nord (avicii) AC2003 (EU)

No WiFi Module visible at all after update. I can see neither WiFi networks nor turn on WiFi hotspot.

Tried to update to beta 4.0.2 (as updater suggested) – the same result.

Don’t know what to do further.

Great news: Apps are booting again after clean flash of 3.7.3 via PC (adb and fastboot). My assumption, that the OTA (in-built update function) messed up something related to the security architecture, was correct. So I re-installed the current version on my Fairphone 6 manually following the standard installation guideline.

Before this, banking apps and some others had failed to boot. The problems started with the update from 3.7 to 3.7.1, and persisted through 3.7.3. Now, all works like before. Glad, I can continue to use /e/os!

Check out my post from today. I managed to make the apps work again by re-installing the current version 3.7.3 manually via PC, following the standard installation guideline. It seems that the problem was caused by the in-built update function (OTA update) which messed something up. I will repeat this clean flash process if future OTA updates cause similar problems or any problems at all. It seems that OTA updates are different from clean flashs, as remnants of older versions may remain on the system. I think this prevented my phone from being verified by security systems from apps like banking apps.

All is well with the following exceptions:

There is no WiFi Calling feature in the Nord, unsure if previous versions of eOS had?

A small bug I will also note and will add to the Nord section:

If you want to use the fingerprint reader do not enable three button navigation until after you set your fingerprint. The three button navigation is over top of the fingerprint reader input on the screen. So work around is to set at first to gesture navigation, make the fingerprint the switch to three button if you like. One the screen is lock the fingerprint reader is not obscured.

Edit: I did find WiFi calling it is under Network and Internet> Internet> Settings> Wi-Fi calling has a switch, turn it on. I do note when I make a call it does not say Wi-Fi call (like a Motorola) and I have not been prompted to set the 911 address (emergency in North America). I will also mention I see a setting I have not seen in other phones called Vo5G bellow Wi-Fi calling and the switch is on.

OK sure, thanks for the tip, but it was my understanding that it was supposed to recognise the words from either language and make suggestions/corrections based upon that. Am I wrong there?

It cannot however handle two languages at once as this would require a dictionary of both languages.

… and discussion of alternatives.

In all previous versions, My phone would only use maybe 1-2% power per hour with my settings disabling individually all the connectivity and reducing activity.
Settings were : NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, location off, power saver on, as well as low power and data saver modes on. Dark mode and mobile data are on.

Since versions 3.6 and 3.7 I’ve been using Airplane mode more, and my battery will usually lose at least 10% over maybe 3 hours.
Settings are : NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, location off, power saver on, as well as low power and data saver modes on. Dark mode and mobile data are usually on.

In one instance, I disabled cellular / carrier date before activating the airplane mode and it seemed to have reduce the power consumption to the better levels (1-2% per hour, instead of about 3+).

I haven’t done extensive testing, but it could be that something is wrong with airplane mode or some other connectivity setting.

Still occasional freezing in browser.
Biggest issue is unable to power off from lock screen or from Home Screen. Pressing Power Off in either scenario while charging reboots the phone. If not charging, and phone switched off, putting phone on charge boots the phone!

Keyboard freezing while writing a lengthy email in default mail app.

Update on powering off. No issues this morning.

Hi all,

Thanks for allowing me to share my feedback.

I updated three days ago.

update went smoothly but lots of wild issues after update. TomTom navigation app suddenly tells no routes could be found and cannot be used no navigate. Especially navigation is essential to me.

When connecting to our car, the car shows a flashing message every 5 Seconds that the connected Android auto device is not responding (has not been an issue before). Certain apps like Handelsblatt or Festool still don’t work - Handelsblatt cannot load articles and Festool cannot connect to power tools via Bluetooth. Very annoying for people who use the tools nearly every day.

Any idea how to fix? Anyone else having issues with navigation or Bluetooth?
